The Squintae are the watchful creatures of the Faewilde: beings shaped by eyes, instinct, and the uncomfortable possibility that they noticed you long before you noticed them.

Some hide within silver cats. Some peer from wings, leaves, bones, or stranger forms still. Others hover soundlessly above old paths, follow travelers from the edges of mirrors, or observe moments that have not yet occurred.

They are not one species, but a sprawling family of ocular oddities, united less by anatomy than by attention. Each Squintae sees the world differently. Some guard. Some predict. Some judge. Some simply stare.

Whether their gaze is protective, curious, or profoundly unhelpful depends entirely upon the creature.

Looking away does not mean it has stopped watching.
