Behind the Beads
Every bit of sparkle has a source... Behind every handmade piece is a little chaos and a lot of charm. Here’s the team that turns shimmer into stories.

✨ Sparkle Maker. Fairy Wrangler. Jewelry Gremlin. ✨
It all started with an unexpected gift: a big tangle of craft wire and no clear plan. A few evenings and a mild explosion of beads later, I found myself surrounded by tiny fairies. And I haven’t stopped making magic since.
Fairlight by Moriarty is what happens when a lifelong love of fantasy, color, and “what if I just added this?” becomes a jewelry line (and a growing population of winged figurines). I’ve been making jewelry for about four years now, and my favorite part is still the way a piece evolves—how a subtle shift in bead color or the perfect flash of sparkle can completely transform the final look. Half the time, the finished design surprises me in the best possible way.
I believe jewelry should be beautiful and a little bit enchanted—something that makes you smile when you catch it in the mirror. Whether it’s a bold statement piece or a tiny charm with attitude, everything I create is one-of-a-kind, handmade, and crafted to tell a little story.

✨ Fairlight Fairy ✨
Official Title: Chief Sparkle Instigator
The Fairlight Fairy is the first to arrive when the beads come out—and usually the last to leave, often trailing wire and glitter behind her. Thought to be born from a tangled spool of craft wire and a particularly stubborn gemstone, she now serves as both mascot and mischief manager at Fairlight by Moriarty.
Her wings shimmer in copper light, her fingers are always inked with enchantment, and she insists that no necklace is complete until it makes you grin. Equal parts studio assistant and chaos goblin, she’s known to rearrange beads mid-design if the colors aren’t “emotionally aligned.”
When she’s not overseeing sparkle operations, she’s whispering color suggestions, chasing down loose jump rings, or trying to keep Silhouette out of trouble (with limited success).
She believes in one-of-a-kind magic, the power of personal adornment, and occasionally hoarding cabochons “for future inspiration.”

✨ Silhouette ✨
She may be quiet, but don’t let that fool you—Silhouette’s got a sharp eye for detail and a knack for spotting the one bead that pulls a whole design together. She’s the keeper of symmetry, the stringer of secrets, and the reason half the supplies haven’t wandered off entirely.
You’ll usually find her in the background, organizing chaos into beauty with a knowing smirk. She prefers shadow to spotlight, silence to sparkle—but she’s been known to borrow glitter when no one’s looking.
Where Fairlight Fairy dreams in color, Silhouette hums in contrast. They make quite the pair.

✨ Enter the Faewilde ✨
You haven’t just stumbled into a jewelry shop—you’ve stepped into another realm entirely. Fairlight by Moriarty is the human-facing corner of the Faewilde: a hidden world of wild magic, ancient beauty, and stories that shimmer just beneath the surface of things.
Here, every piece of jewelry might be more than it seems.
Some are whispered to be gifts from the fae themselves—tokens of favor or protection from unseen hands. Others are believed to be recreations of powerful talismans: heirlooms of the fairy courts, remade in gemstone and wire. And many are simply born from inspiration, sparked by the tales that spill from the Faewilde Chronicles.
The Faewilde Chronicles are not a book, not exactly. They’re a living thread of history, legend, and curious truths, unspooling when the time is right. You won’t find them in order, and you won’t always know where they’re going—but each one reveals a piece of the world we’ve built, and the magical objects that pass through it.
Guarding this realm is a vast and whimsical order of frogs. Yes, frogs. They are watchers, messengers, and gatekeepers. It is said they carry secrets beneath their damp skin and sometimes speak in riddles (though most prefer snacks to conversation). You’ll spot them from time to time across the site, keeping an eye on things—and you.
If you're the curious sort, the kind who senses a little magic hidden in the clasp of a necklace or the glint of a gemstone, you’re in good company. Sign up for fairy mail at the bottom of this page, and you’ll be the first to know whenever the next Chronicle is revealed.
The stories are waiting.
And the frogs are watching.

✨ Policies, Passions, & Personal Touches ✨
Because every fairytale should come with fine print (and glitter).
At Fairlight by Moriarty, we believe jewelry isn’t just decoration—it’s a tiny piece of personal magic. That’s why we offer a little enchantment behind the scenes, too.
Want to swap a clasp? Easy. Prefer a toggle to a lobster? A magnetic one for ease? Just say the word. Necklaces can usually be switched to a different chain or cord, in a color or style you like better, as long as the studio sprites have it on hand. Earring hooks can be switched for posts or other kinds of hooks to suit your preference. Most simple adjustments—like switching out a chain, adding length, or choosing a different finding material—are free. If you’d like to upgrade to sterling silver, or if your request involves uncommon or premium components, there may be a small fee. For changes that require full restringing (or a complete redesign), you might be better off commissioning a custom piece.
Yes, commissions are welcome. Whether you’re dreaming of a one-of-a-kind gift, reimagining a sentimental piece, or just want your favorite stones turned into wearable mischief, send a note to commissions@fairlightbymoriarty.com. The Fairlight Fairy loves a creative challenge—and Silhouette appreciates a good sketch.
What about the materials?
For all pieces that contain gemstones, we work with genuine gemstones whenever possible and always disclose exactly what’s used in each of those listings. Every item is made with the best components available to us—meaning they’re selected not just for sparkle, but for quality, durability, and ethical sourcing when we can. Some materials (like stainless steel or plated findings) are used by default for affordability, but sterling upgrades are usually available on request. If a gemstone is suspected to be imitation, even if it was sold as real, that mystery will be noted in the description. We believe honesty is part of the magic.
🌿 A note on earrings, comfort, and sparkle:
While many of our necklaces feature genuine gemstones, you'll notice our earrings lean lighter—often crafted with glass, crystal, or other airy materials. That’s by design. We believe fairy-inspired sparkle shouldn't weigh you down, so we favor components that flutter gently rather than tug. When gemstones do appear in earrings, it’s because they’re worth the weight (and we’ll let you know). And for sensitive ears: rest assured, every hook and post we use is hypoallergenic—always.
At the end of the day, our goal is simple: to craft pieces that feel special, look amazing, and bring a little wonder into your world. If a clasp change, custom length, or mystery stone makes that possible, then we’re all in. After all, a story doesn’t stop once it’s written—sometimes it just needs a better ending.
