The Gazewept | Glass Eye, Faceted Bead & Teardrop Dangle Earrings

Not everything an eye witnesses can be remembered.

In the Faewilde, there are certain watching eyes that solve the problem another way. They are called the Gazewept, and old accounts insist they first belonged to seers whose visions arrived too quickly, too strangely, or with too much weight to remain behind the eye. When a sight could no longer be held, the eye released it.

Not as an ordinary tear.

First, the sharpest fragment of the vision condensed into a small faceted bead beneath the eye: a color, a warning, an emotion, sometimes only the certainty that something important had happened. What remained descended farther, collecting into a larger drop where the rest of the vision could settle.

Drowseye sheds the things seen between sleep and waking. Its pale violet gaze gives way to lavender crystal and a deep purple drop, preserving dreams whose details disappear by morning while their moods stubbornly remain. A Drowseye vision is rarely clear, but it is rarely meaningless.

Wyrdwatch sees the crooked places where possibility bends. Blue, violet, and aqua gather beneath its gaze after glimpses of roads that lead somewhere different on the return journey, doors that exist only from one direction, and coincidences repeated too precisely to remain coincidences. Those who study such eyes caution that wyrd does not mean fate is fixed. It merely means something has begun paying attention.

Safarsee watches what moves beyond familiar borders. Its patterned black-and-gold eye, gilded facet, and crimson drop are associated with long journeys, unfamiliar creatures, and the instant when curiosity must decide whether to approach or retreat. Safarsees supposedly remember landscapes particularly well, including several that no cartographer has admitted to losing.

Intensight does not look farther than the others. It simply looks harder. Green-gold color gathers around its iris while an iridescent facet and brilliant aqua drop preserve details other eyes dismiss as insignificant: a changed expression, a repeated symbol, a thread where no thread belonged. Intensight has a reputation for finding meaning even when meaning would strongly prefer not to be found.

The drops are never deliberately broken.

Partly because they are beautiful.

Mostly because none of the surviving texts explain what happens when a stored vision is suddenly given somewhere else to go.

Some eyes shed tears. Others shed what they have seen.

Keep dry and avoid perfume, lotions, sprays, drops, and hard impacts, as moisture and chemicals can dull the glass and plated finishes while sudden jolts may knock the eye cabochons loose from their settings; wipe gently with a soft cloth after wear (a polishing cloth is included with every purchase).
