In the Faewilde, ravens are accused of collecting bright things only by people who have never watched them carefully. The oldest of them collect moments.
When a story ends where no one remains to remember it, sometimes a raven stays behind. It waits until the place has emptied itself of footsteps and voices, then takes the final scene with it: a bare branch against a winter sky, a path disappearing into mist, a marker whose name has already begun to fade. Such remnants are called corvignettes.
Most vanish somewhere between memory and dream. A rare few persist. Archivists insist they are records. Wanderers insist they are warnings. Ravens, characteristically, have declined to clarify the matter.
There is only one piece of advice upon which every surviving account agrees: if you find a Corvignette, do not ask what happened there. Ask what the raven thought was worth remembering.
The raven keeps the last scene.
Care Notes:
Put Corvignette on after lotions, perfume, sunscreen, and setting spray, and keep it dry because howlite is relatively soft and porous and moisture or chemicals can damage the cameo image; after wear, wipe gently with a soft cloth (we’ll send a polishing cloth with your item).
