There are maps in the Faewilde that cannot be folded.

They are drawn in tidewater, reflected in puddles, scratched into river stones, or found hanging beneath old bridges after a storm. Most disappear when touched. A few remain long enough for a careful traveler to follow them somewhere they were not entirely meant to go.

Wayfarer’s Drop is said to belong to that rarer kind.

Each earring holds a dark little world-map circle beneath a clear faceted bead, as though the path begins somewhere bright and vanishes quickly into shadow. Below the map, a blue glass drop hangs like a piece of captured sea, rain, or memory from a route that crossed water and refused to explain itself.

The frogs disagree about whether these are navigation charms, warning signs, or souvenirs from someone who got very impressively lost. What they do agree on is that the drops should not be shaken too hard. Old maps, even tiny ones, can become opinionated.

Keep dry, as moisture and chemicals can dull the dark metal finish and glass shine; wipe gently after wear and store separately so the map charms and drops do not knock against other jewelry, with a polishing cloth included.
