In time immemorial, there was something in the Faewilde known as Glaciabyssa.

No one now agrees on what it truly was. Some say it was a shard of winter older than the first frost. Others claim it was a deep-sea spirit that grew too powerful, gathering tides and starlight until the oceans themselves trembled. What is known is this: the oldest beings of the Faewilde feared what Glaciabyssa might become.

So they bound it.

Silver spells were woven tight around its power, and a great magical weight was fastened to it so that it would sink beyond reach, drawn slowly into the deepest waters where no light could follow. Witnesses to that ancient binding spoke of a final moment when the bound relic slipped beneath the sea, trailing flashes of pale ice and deep blue light as it vanished into the abyss.

These earrings were crafted from one such account.

Their descending line of crystals draws your eyes down and echoes the falling glimmer of that fall — pale fragments of sea-light above, deeper cobalt below, and a bound blue core wrapped tight in silver, followed by a drop of clear magic, just as the witnesses described.

Even now, some say the sea grows strangely still in certain places… as though something ancient remains far below, waiting beneath the weight that holds it there.
