In the shallower corners of the Tidelands, there is a tidepool market that appears only when the moon is low and the frogs are distracted.
No one knows who started it. No one admits to running it. But every so often, a traveler finds a red shell token, a gold-lit bead, or a little bronze fish charm left behind in the wet sand, and that usually means the guppies have been negotiating again.
Guppygrift comes from one of those questionable transactions.
The fish, naturally, deny everything. They claim the amber-glint beads were “found,” the red spiral shells were “community property,” and the whole exchange was “more of a cultural misunderstanding than a theft.” The frogs are unconvinced, though several have quietly accepted payment in bubbles.
By dawn, the tidepool market is gone. Only the tokens remain: one fish, one shell, one golden glimmer, and absolutely no receipts.
The guppies deny everything.
Care Notes:
Keep dry, as moisture and chemicals can dull the gold-tone metal, glass beads, and charm finish; wipe gently after wear and store separately so the fish and shell drops do not knock together, with a polishing cloth included.
