There are rulers for inches, scales for ounces, and clocks for hours.
Measurelle was made for everything else.
According to the old instrument-makers, ordinary measurements became useless once travelers began returning from the stranger paths with questions no calibrated tool could answer. How far is it from a promise to its breaking point? How much courage is required to open a forbidden door? How long does a memory remain after everyone who remembers it is gone?
For those measurements, they devised another sort of rule.
Each Measurelle suspends a slender antique-copper ruler above a long, faceted violet drop, the glass serving as both counterweight and indicator. The ruler records the measure; the shard reveals what is being measured. Lavender for curiosity. Deeper violet for uncertainty. A sudden flash of light for discoveries that probably ought to have been left undiscovered.
Unfortunately, no surviving instruction book explains the markings.
Some collectors insist the little instruments measure possibility. Others claim they determine exactly how far one may wander before becoming lost. One particularly unpopular scholar proposed that they measure the distance between good judgment and irresistible curiosity, though his own pair reportedly shattered almost immediately.
Whatever their original purpose, Measurelle remains an exquisitely precise tool for an entirely imprecise world: ruler straight, crystal pointed, and calibration thoroughly questionable.
For everything that refuses to fit neatly on a scale.
Care Note:
Keep dry and avoid perfume, lotions, and sprays directly on the earrings, as moisture and chemicals can dull the faceted glass and antique-finish metal; wipe gently with a soft cloth after wear (a polishing cloth is included with every purchase).
