There are creatures in the Faewilde whose handling instructions have been refined over centuries of unfortunate experimentation. The Gummayhem requires only one:
Do not untie the bow.
Small, glossy, and suspiciously confectionary, a Gummayhem bears an unfortunate resemblance to something one might find among the sweets. This is believed to be coincidence. The Gummayhems themselves have declined to clarify, largely because questioning one requires finding where it has gone.
Left to its own devices, a Gummayhem is a tiny catastrophe with paws. It climbs what should not be climbable, carries off objects considerably larger than itself, investigates closed containers as a personal challenge, and has been known to emerge from places it could not possibly have entered. They are neither cruel nor particularly destructive by intention. They simply possess boundless curiosity, very little judgment, and an alarming aptitude for improvisation.
Fortunately, generations of Faewilde trial and error eventually produced the enchanted bow. Once tied, it quiets the creature's more spectacular impulses without suppressing them entirely. Thus secured, a Gummayhem may still wriggle, swing, and generally object to the concept of remaining where it was put. Glittering drops are traditionally suspended nearby to occupy wandering paws. Whether this actually helps or merely gives the creature something else to meddle with remains disputed.
Gummayhem earrings carry two of the glossy little terrors beneath silver hearts and translucent bows, surrounded by smoky and clear sparkle. Their containment appears sound.
Please keep it that way.
Whatever you do, don’t untie the bow.
Care Note:
Avoid drops, crushing, and harsh chemicals, as the acrylic bears and bows and faceted glass drops can scratch, crack, or chip; store them where the dangling clusters won’t snag, and wipe gently after wear with the polishing cloth we’ll include.
