Not every plant of the Faewilde can be pressed between the pages of a book. Some lose their color the moment they are picked. Some wilt when carried beyond the soil that knows them. Others are considerably less cooperative and simply refuse to remain where they have been left.
So the old botanical recordkeepers devised another method.
Floriatures are miniature painted records of plants worth remembering, small enough to travel where the specimens themselves cannot. Each preserves a likeness rather than a cutting, accompanied by colors chosen to recall something the painting alone could not quite capture.
Purpollen records a pansy known to open deepest at dusk, when its pollen becomes visible as a fine violet dust. Waltzbloom depicts the blue flowers that gather beside certain Faewilde waterways; when evening breezes move along the banks, their blossoms turn and sway together until an entire patch appears to be dancing. Verdacotta remembers a stubborn little succulent found flourishing in the cracked pots of abandoned greenhouses, where baked earth and bright new growth seem equally determined to outlast one another.
There are grander treasures catalogued in the Faewilde, certainly. But the keepers of the Floriatures have always maintained that rarity is not the only reason something deserves to be remembered.

Avoid knocking or dropping your Floriatures, as hard impacts can loosen the floral cabochons from their settings; put them on after lotions, perfumes, and sprays, and wipe gently with a soft cloth after wear (we’ll include a polishing cloth with your purchase).
