The chroniclers of the Faewilde know the Elemortals chiefly through accounts carried back from the Síos, where the boundaries between creature, element, and aftermath are far less reliable. There, a force may become so saturated with history, pressure, death, or will that it begins to imitate life. When it finally seeks a face, it chooses the shape mortality leaves behind in every realm: a skull.

No corpse lies within an Elemortal. The face is an invention of the force itself, while everything surrounding it is its true nature made restless. They are not evil in any simple mortal sense. They obey the oldest law available to them: their own nature. Fire consumes. Deep water pulls. Mire holds. Metal endures. Frost stills. Spirits linger. Control reaches.

Choose your Elemortal:

Magmenace — Molten stone given a deathly face, burning beneath blackened crust wherever the Síos runs hot enough to make rock remember flame. Colors: black, amber, orange-red, red, silver

Phasmora — A spectral gathering of what countless souls leave behind as they pass through the Síos, their residue lingering in colors both luminous and faintly poisonous. Colors: black, electroplated plum, pale green, iridescent blue, silver, deep violet-black

Glaeshroud — Killing cold made animate, wrapping sound, motion, and memory beneath spectral frost until even the silence seems frozen. Colors: frost white, clear, pale blue, deeper blue, silver, dark blue-gray

Diablore — Ore awakened under impossible pressure, layered in darkness, brightness, polish, and corruption until the metal itself seems to have grown teeth. Colors: silver, graphite, gunmetal gray, clear-silver, black, subtle oil-slick black

Abyskelle — A creature of lightless depths, where water keeps pulling long after the surface has disappeared and the last traces of color drift through the dark. Colors: midnight blue, smoky blue, teal, blue-green, dark silver, near-black

Revenosis — Living compulsion made manifest, reaching through thought until consciousness and control become two different things. Colors: black, dark plum, smoky lavender, pale iridescent pink-gold, clear-silver, deep violet

Grimire — Mire given patience and teeth, born where water, soil, decay, old metal, and time have forgotten how to remain separate. Colors: black, bronze, olive, murky green, brown, smoke, near-black

Those who encounter an Elemortal are advised not to mistake the presence of a face for the possibility of negotiation.
