There are creatures in the Faewilde that possess second sight.

Dupliris possesses something considerably less dignified: two first sights.

No one is entirely certain how the little watcher developed this arrangement. The larger feline eye occupies its proper place beneath silver cat ears, pale pink and calmly attentive. The smaller eye above it is another matter entirely. It appears to have simply decided that one perspective was insufficient and installed itself where a perfectly respectable ornament might otherwise have gone.

Between them hangs a faceted pink drop, traditionally called a parallax bead by those who have attempted to study the phenomenon. When both eyes observe the same object through slightly different lines of sight, the bead is said to catch the discrepancy between them. Most differences are trivial: a shadow seen from one angle but not another, the true depth of a puddle, whether something behind a curtain actually moved.

Occasionally, they are not.

Dupliris therefore has a peculiar reputation for noticing things that exist only from certain perspectives. A doorway that appears when approached from the left. Writing visible only in reflection. An extra person in a group whose members all insist they arrived alone.

The trouble is determining which eye is correct.

The upper gaze is bold, round, and immediate, inclined to assume that anything unusual is worth investigating. The lower eye is slower and far more suspicious, preferring to watch until whatever it has noticed reveals itself.

They disagree frequently.

This has never prevented either one from staring.

Two viewpoints. One extremely persistent curiosity.

Keep dry and avoid perfume, lotions, sprays, drops, and hard impacts, as moisture and chemicals can dull the glass and plated metal while sudden jolts may loosen the cabochons from their settings; wipe gently with a soft cloth after wear (a polishing cloth is included with every purchase).
