There are lights in the Faewilde that mean come closer.

There are others that mean you already have.

Among the stranger stories attached to the Síos are tales of little red lanterns seen moving through places where no road ought to be. They hang beneath black-winged shapes and burn with a glow that persists long after the surrounding light has disappeared. No one seems entirely certain whether the lanterns are being carried, whether the creatures belong to them, or whether separating the two ideas is missing the point.

They came to be called dreadwicks.

A Dreadwick does not blaze brightly enough to illuminate the path ahead. It merely gives you something to keep watching.

These earrings borrow that little Faewilde omen in black metal, with winged skeletal bat forms suspended above miniature red lanterns. When darkness falls, the lanterns reveal their hidden glow, leaving that peculiar point of light exactly where the Síos would presumably prefer it.

Whether it is warning you away or showing you the way has never been satisfactorily established.

Follow the light if you must. Just remember who lit it.
