There was, apparently, a brief period in the Faewilde when everyone became terribly concerned about the end of the world.

The concern began with a string of suspicious omens: three moons appearing at once, a pond predicting Tuesdays incorrectly, several mushrooms developing strong opinions about destiny, and one extremely dramatic raven refusing to explain itself. A committee was formed immediately, which naturally made everything worse.

That committee commissioned Cataclysmic.

The design was considered ideal for serious prophetic observation. Bright green stones served as warning beacons. The bronze discs were said to represent celestial alignments, though nobody could remember which ones. Tiny green beads were added because one of the committee members felt the whole thing looked “insufficiently official.” And at the bottom of each earring, a large unblinking cat-eye was installed to observe the approaching apocalypse with the detached concentration of a cat watching someone drop a sandwich.

For several weeks, Cataclysmic was carried to eclipses, suspicious cloud formations, unusually loud thunderstorms, and one garden party where somebody thought the punch looked prophetic.

The world did not end.

This was widely considered a success.

The committee disbanded, the paperwork disappeared, and Cataclysmic remained behind, still watching patiently for catastrophe, cosmic upheaval, or anything else sufficiently interesting to justify all those eyes.

Prepared for the end times. Mildly disappointed so far

Treat Cataclysmic gently and avoid dropping or knocking them against hard surfaces, as a sharp blow could shift the eye cabs from their settings; keep them dry, store them safely, and give them a soft wipe after wear with the included polishing cloth.
