Not every Squintae is a model watcher.

Buzzsquint belongs to a lesser and rather undisciplined branch of the Squintae, the one-eyed little beings of the Faewilde known for peering out from grasses, leaves, and hidden places to quietly observe the world. Grassquint established them as small guardian watchers with a single luminous eye, perched in moss, meadow, and forest-edge hush. Buzzsquint, regrettably, has inherited the eye but not always the discipline.

This particular variety is most often found near pondflowers, garden paths, and buzzing summer patches where pollinators gather. It has one fixed and constant fascination: bees. Not because it wishes to befriend them, and certainly not because it has any noble interest in their work. A Buzzsquint simply wants, with all its tiny froggy heart, to know whether a bee would taste as delightful as it looks.

Thankfully, it is not entirely foolish. It knows what a stinger is. So instead of leaping, it watches. It hovers beneath its elusive prize in a state of bright-eyed longing, all curiosity and restraint, like a tiny green glutton trying very hard to behave itself. That is the spirit these earrings capture so perfectly: the bee above, the eager eyes below, and the dangling green strands like restless little thoughts swinging in the air between hunger and caution.
