✨ The Keys to Mossmere ✨

Not every door in the Faewilde is meant to be found. Some grow over with vines, or vanish behind fog. Some drift between days, never quite staying in one place. But Mossmere was once different. Once, it was open.
No fairy lives who remembers when the garden settlement thrived. They say it was carved from a natural grove, half-village and half-forest, where homes were built inside hollowed trees, and lanterns swayed from flowering branches. It was a quiet place, chosen not for safety or secrecy, but for peace. And for a long time, Mossmere was content to stay out of stories.
But stories, like roots, will find their way in.
One spring, travelers arrived. Not just one or two, but many—fae who had lost their homes in the borderlands. Mossmere welcomed them with food and song and more space than it truly had to spare. Still more came. Mossmere grew. Paths were cleared and buildings added, but the more the forest was reshaped, the less it listened. The light shifted. The flowers faded. And one day, without warning, the gates simply stopped opening.
Some say Mossmere sealed itself off out of grief. Others claim a spell was cast to protect it from harm. The truth has long since tangled into folklore, but the keys remain.
Scattered across the realm, these enchanted keys are said to open the last of the hidden garden gates. Some fairies keep them as tokens. Some bury them in moonlit places and whisper hopes into the soil. A few—just a few—have claimed to find a gate.
These earrings were made from one such set of keys. Or so says the story.
Green aventurine stones gleam like new leaves after rain, and rose-toned brass keeps the memory of blooms no longer seen. They are light on the ear, but carry the hush of moss beneath your step. They do not rattle. They do not chime. They simply wait—like doors do.
If you ever find your way to Mossmere, be kind. Be gentle. And leave the gate as you found it.
The garden remembers.
