They catch sunlight rather than merely opening toward it, throwing color through the surrounding leaves while the smaller buds above sway independently in the breeze. No one has satisfactorily explained why their stems resemble silver chain, either.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTwo varieties have so far been documented.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eRosaverdra\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e grows in the brighter reaches of the Faewilde, with fresh green buds suspended above a great translucent pink bloom. It favors overgrown places where sunlight arrives in fragments, and has a particular habit of appearing among ordinary flowers just as someone has become quite certain they know everything growing in their garden.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAnemoniae\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e prefers cooler, dimmer places. Its smaller blossoms are a smoky blue-gray, while the great flower beneath them deepens into clear cobalt. The silver flower at its crown bears an uncanny resemblance to the dark-centered blue anemones found elsewhere, though whether one inspired the other is a question best avoided around Faewilde botanists.
